My name is Nici Ezra AKA as Nix, Nicster and Nicezra.

Food in our home has a very special place and I love feeding my family and friends.  My husband is of Russian Ashkenazi descent, comes from a kosher home and loves traditional Jewish cooking.  

I am self- taught and inspired by my heritage of exotic foods and mixed cultures, embarked on this journey to become a great cook or 'balabusta' as they say in Yiddish.  I know I have done well when I am told, that tastes just like my Bubbe’s!  It is the ultimate compliment.

Barely_kosher is my new venture, I am combining years of home cooking experience with a love of food, people and cultures while keeping to the principles of kashrut!
